In 1969, at age fourteen I worked for my father’s painting company during summer vacations in Boston. I learned quite a lot about the basics of house painting with an emphasis on preparation and detail.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 1975 I have worked for various painting contractors and set painting companies for movies and television.
While working as a set painter I learned some advanced painting techniques such as faux finish painting and plaster finishes.
Some of my techniques include:
Interior and Exterior Painting, Stucco Repair, Window Glazing, Glass Replacement, Kitchen Cabinets, Customized Garage Doors, Rag Glazing, Faux Marble and Granite, Crackle, Wood Graining, Antiquing, Distressing, Denim, Wood Staining and Refinishing, Venetian Plaster, Customized Textured Plaster, Stencils, Customized Fireplace Mantles, and Murals from Photos.
Since starting Robert Williams Design in 1983, I have had the pleasure to paint for several celebrities such as Bob Hope, Robbie Kreiger (guitarist for the Doors), Paul Hogan (Crocodile Dundee), Enrico Colantoni (Just Shoot Me and Veronica Mars), Charlton Heston, Jeremy Piven (Entourage) and Billy West (Futurama, Ren and Stimpy).
When I bought my first home three years ago I used these skills to transform my house into a beautiful home by paying close attention to preparation and detail. I apply this same work ethic when working for my customers.
